Anthony Smith enters his sophomore season attempting to make an impact on the defensive side of the ball by moving up the depth chart at free safety. He'll have to get past seniors Ryan Keiser and Jesse Della Valle, but will have time to take reps on special teams until his number is called. Smith played three games on special teams last year, tallying one tackle against Eastern Michigan. And if he ever gets tired of being a gunner, the 196-pound Smith can help with long-snapping duties.
Smith shares the number 24 with incoming freshman running back Nick Scott.
Good luck in 2014, Anthony and Nick!
