Robert Windsor has been a priority for Penn State ever since Christian Wilkins shocked pretty much everyone and verbally committed to Clemson earlier this month. PSU's depth on the defensive line, especially at defensive tackle, was looking a little scary for the 2016 season, with Anthony Zettel, and Tarow Barney set to graduate, and the very real possibility of Austin Johnson forgoing his final year of eligibility to enter the NFL draft.
Windsor was offered shortly after Wilkins' announcement, and quickly set up an official visit to Happy Valley. He all but called the Lions his leader at that point. There were some nervous moments last week when new Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst offered the home state product, but it appears James Franklin, and the rest of the staff, showed him what he wanted to see from PSU.
Outlook:
I know it's a popular thing to say with a recruit ranked three stars, but man, I really like Windsor's potential. He's a very solid athlete, and already quite sound technically. He will likely redshirt in 2015 with a solid depth chart on the interior line, which should provide ample time to get bigger and stronger. With at least two tackles set to move on following the season, there will be a tremendous opportunity to contribute as early as the 2016 season.
