Black Shoe Degenerates: Week 12

Big games abound!

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

I hope everyone enjoyed their week away from Penn State football and got to enjoy some time away from the TV, with family, perhaps cleaning up the leaves. But let's be honest here. You were all glued to your television boxes as Michigan pulled out another late game victory and Oklahoma only added to the confusion over their earlier loss to Texas by beating Baylor.

Our Nittany Lions are back in action this week, along with plenty of other games with huge playoff implications!

Penn State vs. Michigan (-4)

There are so many fascinating parts about this line to me. One, the wise guys in that beautiful desert oasis of Las Vegas think Michigan is at least a touchdown favorite over Penn State on a neutral field. Two, this has slowly trended towards the Nittany Lions as the week has gone on. I do not think we will see the huge swing to PSU we saw before the Northwestern game, but I would not be surprised if the trend towards the Lions continued.

As for what I think? I have liked Penn State in this game for a long time, and I love them getting 4 points. Pretty big fan of the under again as well (41).

Top Plays

It was just two weeks ago that LSU looked like a national title contender, and then they went to Tuscaloosa. Then a week ago, they got BERT'd. Now there are rumors that Les Miles is coaching for his job. Welcome to college football in 2015. The Tigers head to Oxford this weekend to face an Ole Miss squad that is somehow favored by 4.5. I know I like to say if something seems too good to be true, it usually is. But, well, this is just too tempting to pass up. Leonard Fournette has a big day in an LSU win.

Underdog week continues with Northwestern visiting Madison in a big B1G West contest. Iowa has the division all but locked up, but this is one of the more intriguing games of the week. I do not have a good feel for who is going to win this, but I cannot see it being by a big margin. Enter Wisconsin and those 10.5 points they are giving. I will take the Cats and those 10.5 very gladly.

Eli's #HOT #PICKS

Indiana +3 or Over 66.5: Both Indiana and Maryland have been in a similar path in Big Ten play. Get infinitely close, but never actually win. Both teams have weak defenses, but Indiana's offense is more consistent than Maryland's. There will be points, but Indiana's combination of Sudfeld and Jordan Howard allows them to score more.

Alabama -20.5: No disrespect to Charleston Southern, but that line is tiny. If you can get it, jump on it before it balloons to 40.
