The Penn State Nittany Lions are ranked in the USCHO.com rankings for the third time in program history, coming in at No. 20 in the country. The Lions are having a very strong season thus far, having compiled a record of 7 - 2 - 3.
The Lions are playing their best hockey of the season, at the moment, as they currently are in the midst of a five-game unbeaten streak.
It's the second time Penn State has been ranked in the poll, after being ranked No. 20 and No. 19 at various times last season. The Lions sit just behind No. 19 Michigan Tech, and ahead of the "also receiving votes" leader, Rensselaer.
The best part of all of this, though? Penn State received exactly 69 votes in the poll.
Penn State will put their ranking on the line this Sunday against Vermont in the Wells Fargo Center.
