Penn State commit, Lavert Hill
Lions247

As you are all very aware, Penn State will be playing its spring game this weekend, affectionately referred to as the Blue/White game. Not only is this a huge event for students and alumni alike, but it is also a big recruiting weekend. Let's take a look at some of the names expected to be in attendance for the festivities.

Committed for the Class of 2016

Lavert Hill (CB)

Connor McGovern (C/G)

Jake Zembiec (Pro-QB)

Miles Sanders (RB)

Uncommitted for the Class of 2016

Demetric Vance (S) (Cass Tech, MI)

Christian Colon (DT) (Independence, NC) (Cancelled)

Cameron Brown (DE) (The Bullis School, MD)

Naseir Upshur (TE) (Imhotep, PA)

Terrance Davis (OG) (DeMatha, MD)

Khaleke Hudson (S) (McKeesport, PA)

Uncommitted for the Class of 2017/2018

David Adams (LB) (Central Catholic, PA)

Hunter Johnson (Pro-QB) (Brownsburg, IN)

Lamont Wade (CB) (Clairton, PA)

Robert Hainsey (OL) (Gateway, PA)

Mark Webb (WR) (Archbishop Wood, PA)

Micah Parson (DE) (Central Dauphin, PA) (2018)

There are far more not listed here. For that full list, check out Sean Fitz's post on Lions247.

We'll do our best to deliver any developing storyline to you regarding possible commitments, but most of the staff will be at the game, so there may be a slight delay.

Shane Simmons Showing Off

Simmons may not be able to attend the spring game this weekend, but he did show off in Richmond the other day.

That was Shane plowing through some highly regarded offensive linemen. Also seen in the video were Penn State targets Jauan Williams, Jay Jay McCargo and Josh Ball.

Menet Down to Two

If you missed it, Michael Menet (OT) (Exeter, PA) announced his top two via twitter. It has been known for some time that Menet is just as big on academics as he is football, which makes his top two of Penn State and Duke quite sensible. Normally, one would look at such a list and assume that it's only a matter of time before he picks Penn State. Don't sleep on Duke, though. Reports were that Menet truly did enjoy his visit there, so the Blue Devils are still in play. I fully expect Menet to become a Nittany Lion (sooner rather than later, might I add), but it's not set in stone.

Lavert Hill Update

There has been a lot of talk recently about Lavert Hill and his college intentions. His older brother plays at Michigan, so the threat of a flip will be something that follows Hill throughout the entirety of the process. He was quoted in a Scout article three days ago saying that he is "100% committed to Penn State". That won't stop the Urban Meyers and Jim Harbaughs of the world from coming after him, though. He will visit Penn State this weekend with his mother, where the staff will surely pull out every stop to make sure he has the best possible visit, and will hopefully allow him to reaffirm his commitment.

In the meantime, Hill is starring on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball for his 7 on 7 team. Check out this free Scout article to see some video of him.

Dwayne Haskins: Twitter Warrior

Dwayne Haskins has gained quite a reputation for his twitter antics (those antics being retweeting things about every school recruiting him twice a day, suggesting he's going somewhere, etc.). Well CSN Baltimore was able to sit him (and his father) down to have a brief, but real talk about his recruitment and the whole process in general. Check out the full article here, or just the video below.
