Welcome to the official primer and open thread for the NFL Draft, as related to Penn State.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Draft is finally upon us. The final opinions have been formed. Player reports have been written. Nine former Penn State athletes are ready for the next stage in their lives to begin. Some of them will be drafted. Some of them will become free agents. All of them, however, will make us proud in everything they do.

In case you missed any of our fantastic coverage of the NFL Draft, get caught up on everything right now.

On first glance, it might be a little discouraging to see so many guys listed as ones who will likely become free agents. However, guys like Dieffenbach, Barnes, Zwinak and Ficken are extremely draft-able players, should the right situation arise. All four have a lot to offer NFL teams, and could be picked in the sixth or seventh round.

As the draft unfolds, and as our former champions of the blue and white are chosen by NFL teams, we will have fanshots/articles/banners up on the Black Shoe Diaries homepage to help keep you in the loop. And should any of them be picked by the Seahawks, expect me to blow up like I did when they drafted Jordan Hill.
