The Tale
Bostick's recruitment to Penn State began almost two years ago, when he was playing alongside current PSU signee Mike Watkins at Math, Civics & Sciences HS in Philly. Both went their separate ways last summer, with Watkins transferring to The Phelps School and Bostick joining up with Tony Carr at Roman Catholic, the alma mater of Shep Garner. If you had trouble following that sentence, just know that it means Pat Chambers has this Penn State program heavily involved in the Philadelphia recruiting scene.
As good a player as Bostick is and can be, his commitment could be the start of something of a "movement" to Penn State. Not only is he teammates with Carr at Roman, but that pairing also runs with Nike AAU program Team Final, which is the AAU team of fellow PSU targets Lamar Stevens and Dylan Painter. And as Bostick told City of Basketball Love's Josh Verlin tonight:
"I'm trying to get them all to come to Penn State," Bostick said. "I think they all like Penn State, and if we get a couple of them, we would take the Big Ten by storm."
Ok, contain your giggles for a second. What is Penn State getting in Bostick? For starters, his nickname is "Horse." You don't get that kind of nickname easily in the nationally renowned Catholic League. His jumper is considered a work in progress, but he's got the athleticism and intangibles that every coach desires, and that #attitude will surely be a welcome fit in Pat Chambers' system.
Welcome, Nazeer!
