Penn State to Face Boston College in Big Ten-ACC Challenge for the Third Time in Five Seasons

The Lions will travel to Boston on December 2nd in a battle some experts are describing as "a basketball game."

Gregory Fisher-USA TODAY Sports

As if the matchup against DePaul in the first annual Gavitt Tipoff series wasn't enough to whet your appetite for, shall we say, "basketball under construction," Penn State will ship up to Chestnut Hill to play the Boston College Eagles for the third time in five seasons. How creative of you, Delany/Swofford/Skipper.

The Eagles will be without their top three leading scorers from a year ago, including NBA early entree Olivier Hanlan who led the ACC in scoring at 19.5 points per game in 2015. Hanlan poured in 22 as a freshman in the last meeting between these teams, a 73-61 win for BC at the BJC. The Nittany Lions won the meeting in Boston in 2011 during Chambers' first year at the helm.

Penn State's schedule continues to near completion. Here's our approximation at what the full schedule will look like without knowing every opponent. (Ok this is mostly Eric's handiwork, I just added in Boston College).
