Danny Dalton had verbally committed to Boston College back in February, but decommitted at the end of March, shortly after visiting State College. He picked up his scholarship offer from James Franklin and John Donovan not too long after that visit. Since then, his recruitment has blown up, picking up offers from the likes of Alabama, Arizona State, and Nebraska. Danny was back on campus a second time last month for the Blue-White game, all leading up today's announcement.
Outlook:
When Danny enrolls as a freshman next year, the tight end room will be occupied by Adam Breneman, Mike Gesicki, Brent Wilkerson, and incoming 2015 recruits Nick Bowers, and Jonathan Holland. If you are saying to yourself, "self, that sounds like a lot of talent", you are absolutely right.
Dalton, the top player in Massachusetts, will fit right in with what will already be an exceptionally athletic group of tight ends. As a junior, he caught 56 passes for 765 yards, and 9 touchdowns, while also intercepting 3 passes and recovering a fumble as a defensive end and outside linebacker. He also plays lacrosse, so we know there will be plenty of broadcast material for the TV folks.

Welcome to Penn State, Danny!
