Walk-ons don't get a lot of publicity, but every team needs them. Penn State relied heavily on run-ons during the Bill O'Brien years, and even though the scholarship restrictions have been lifted, there's still a huge need for players that will show up to practice every day and work their butts off knowing full well that they probably won't get any Saturday glory for it.
Walk-on lineman Adam De Boef is one of those guys. A State College High kid, De Boef elected to walk-on for James Franklin last summer. His brother Jack is a former three-star recruit who bolsters the numbers on Purdue's o-line, but unlike his younger brother he does not have the honor of wearing the nicest uniform number in football.
Only 69 days until Penn State football.
