If you hadn’t noticed, Penn State recently celebrated 25 years in the Big Ten conference. Here’s a brief history of the move, and BSD Mike's old post following the 20th anniversary. There could still be a legitimate discussion regarding how welcome Penn State is, but with the possible exceptions of football and men’s basketball, the conference has been a boon for Nittany Lion athletics; 27 national championships in last quarter century speak for themselves. Academically, Penn State found the ideal partner with the sharing done between schools within the conference with the CIC.
On a related note, the Big Ten reversed course and decided to give Penn State their full bowl share for this past season.
Tim Frazier: Year One: GoPSUSports posted a short video of the former Nittany Lion discussing his past year and a little bit about his future.
Brand New Flava In Your Ear, er, Mouth: In celebration of it's 150th Anniversary, the Berkey Creamery held an online vote for a new flavor, so it seems appropriate Birthday Cake should ultimately be the winner. The allure of funfetti was to much for the other candidates, Strawberry Cheesecake and Red Velvet Cake, to overcome.
Gordon at Pocono: This weekend was Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 at Pocono Raceway featuring Jeff Gordon's Penn State car. He finished 14th, but Penn State students from a number of colleges were given behind the scenes exposure to his team in various capacities in the days leading up to the race.
Finally: LaVar Arrington announced he and his wife will be having a fourth child, a daughter, and they plan to name her Penn.
