Linebacker Brandon Bell is making the switch to Penn State's iconic number 11 for the upcoming season. As LaVar Arrington reminded him, 11 is a pretty important number in Penn State's history, so you can bet that Bell is preparing to have his best season yet.
Last year, his first as a starter at the SAM linebacker position, Bell thrived alongside Mike Hull and Nyeem Wartman-White. He accounted for 47 total tackles (23 solo), seven tackles for loss, two sacks, three passes defended and one interception (thanks, Gary!)
Look for Bell to take yet another step forward in his junior season, and become a true leader on the defense for Bob Shoop and Brent Pry.
Also wearing number 11 this year for Penn State will be senior tight end, Brent Wilkerson, who is looking for his ever-elusive, breakout season. Due to injuries, Wilkerson has had a very minimal impact on the field, only catching two passes for 18 yards and a touchdown during his sophomore season. Here's to hoping Brent can put it all together this year.
