Penn State has announced the captains for the 2015 season via Twitter on Thursday afternoon. The team voted Christian Hackenberg, Jordan Lucas, Anthony Zettel, Angelo Mangiro, and Von Walker to be 2015's new team captains.
Four of those are not surprising choices, as each one of them comes back as the leader of their respective units. Lucas, Zettel, and Mangiro were the student representatives at the Big Ten Media Days, and Hackenberg would have made it there himself had he not been out attending every QB camp known to (wo)man. But the inclusion of Von Walker to that list is a very pleasant surprise. Not too long ago Walker had just earned himself a scholarship with the team, so to hear that he also became a captain shows the kind of leadership he brings to the squad this season.
