How about some good news around Penn State football?
After being named to the All-Big Ten second team by both the coaches and media and being named BTN.com's Freshman of the Year, Saquon Barkley has another title to add to the list: Freshman All-American. It was announced today that the Football Writers Association of America bestowed the honor on the Nittany Lions' standout running back.

Today's honor is fourth national freshman honor bestowed on the Cosplay, Pa. native. Previously Barkley was named to the USA Today and The Sporting News' Freshman All-America teams and ESPN.com's True Freshman All-America team.
Barkley made his mark in Penn State's record books in 2015. His 1,076 yards in just nine and a half games eclipsed Blair Thomas' freshman record of 1,002, while his seven rushing touchdowns tied Thomas for the most all time by a Nittany Lion freshman. With limited action in two games (one carry vs. Temple, eight vs. San Diego State), Saquon still came in 34th nationally at 97.8 yards per game.
Congratulations on your latest honor, Saquon!
