Miles Sanders to the Spartans?
Miles Sanders is supposedly planning an official visit to Michigan State for the final weekend in January. This is obviously big news, as the Spartans will be giving him the full court press, after their own committed running back, Abdul Adams, de-committed and subsequently committed to Oklahoma.
Sanders will be visiting Penn State the weekend before his scheduled visit to East Lansing. So is it possible he has a great time and cancels that visit, like Manny Bowen did last year? Absolutely. For now, Penn State fans just need to hold their breath and wait it out. My advice to you as always- Miles Sanders is committed to Penn State until he's not. There's no real need to worry about it unless it happens.
Official visits and home visits
The newly-committed Aaron Mathews (Clairton, Pa.) will be making his official visit to Penn State on the weekend of January 22nd. Nearly the entire committed 2016 class will be in Happy Valley at the same time, which will make for a great chance to persuade other top targets to join the class.

Not all visit news is great news, however.

That's defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour (Scotch Plains, Nj.). Dwumfour has seen increased interest in Michigan lately, and will check out the campus for himself this weekend. Things could get dicey for Penn State here, especially if the Wolverines gain a commitment from Dwumfour's best friend, 5* DT Rashan Gary. We'll update you on Dwumfour as we can.
The staff has also been very busy, out on in-home visits all week. You can check out everywhere they've gone in this great update from Sean Fitz on Lions247. One particularly interesting visit, though, is that of Ricky Rahne heading to see newly-offered DT Amir Watts (Chicago, Il.) The No. 42 rated defensive tackle and three-star prospect already has his visits set for the next three weeks, so a visit to Happy Valley seems unlikely. If the staff wants to gain his last-second commitment, they'll need to do work on home visits.
Can't wait to be back in Chicago this week. One Wild Dog already on board and looking for more. Love the talent in this city. #WeAre

2016 ATH Khaleke Hudson (Pittsburgh. Pa.) received an in-home visit of his own on Friday morning.

A new 2017 offer
Finally, another 2017 offer was sent out this week. In the upcoming weeks (particularly the last week in January), there will be a whole host of new 2017 offers extended, as the majority of the work for the 2016 class will be done. However, the staff felt confident to already extend an offer to 2017 TE Jake Marwede. Marwede (Loyola Academy, Il.) is the 18th rated tight end in next year's recruiting class, and a three-star prospect. 247Sports is higher on his, rating him as their No. 8 tight end overall.
Marwede currently holds 12 offers, including the Nittany Lions, Northwestern, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana and Nebraska.
Blessed to have received an offer from Penn State! #WeAre #B1G pic.twitter.com/DLkc7YNqqK
