Following a career filled with accolades, Curt Warner adds yet another honor with his selection to the West Virginia Sports Hall of Fame. He joins wrestler Larry Shaw as the two individuals selected by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association in the 2016 class and will be enshrined at the 70th annual Victory Awards Dinner. As a senior at Pineville High School, Warner had previously won both the Harrison K. Kennedy Award as West Virginia's best football player and West Virginia's Amateur Athlete of the Year as a standout in football, basketball, and baseball.

More Recent Retrospection: Ben Kline may just finished his Penn State playing career, but it bridged the last of the Paterno era, Bill O'Brien, and the start of James Franklin's time in Happy Valley. He sat down with Jourdan Rodrigue of the Centre Daily Times for a fascinating discussion of lessons he learned from his time at Penn State, the media, and his plans for the immediate future.

A Different Route: While the majority of athletes follow Kline in a career somewhere outside of football, Christian Hackenberg is preparing for his shot at the NFL. He's been training with Carson Palmer's brother, Jordan, who also trained Blake Bortles prior to the 2014 Draft. It also makes the point that it doesn't matter where you get selected in the NFL Draft, you just need to take advantage of your opportunity. "If he goes in the third round, it doesn’t mean he can’t be rookie of the year."

Penn State Professor Honored: W. Neil Brandt earned the 2016 Bruno Rossi Prize for his research in detecting x-ray signals in deep space utilizing NASA's Chandra Observatory. Brandt is the Verne. M Willaman Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State, the results of his research have expanded our knowledge of black holes and their effect on their surroundings.

Finally: Reposting because it was awesome. Jason Nolf pinned the number one wrestler during yet another domination by Penn State wrestling on Saturday. You can read bscaff's recap here or see it over at BTN.com, which adds insult to injury misspelling Martinez's name in their link.
