The No. 1 Penn State Nittany Lions took the mat Sunday in their white singlets. They paired well with the sold-out, white-out crowd. And unlike this past fall's white-out against Michigan, this one worked very well. Penn State stormed out to a 29-0 lead before coasting to a decisive 35-7 victory over the 10th ranked Wolverines. It was Michigan's first loss in conference, and sets up a huge showdown with Ohio State next week at a sold out Bryce Jordan Center.

BSD Wrestler of the Meet
Jimmy Gulibon, So, 141lbs. Jimmy gave up the initial takedown against a Michigan's George Fisher, who was a national qualifier last year for the Wolverines. And it didn't phase him. Gulibon rattled off three straight takedowns, and controlled the rest of the match. If not for that surprise opening move from Fisher, Jimmy would have been working toward a major decision. That's great news.
Three Completely Unrelated, Probably Useless Thoughts
1) Michigan's Pantaleo proved that the "tactical" match doesn't work against Zpain. He tried - and did pretty well, actually, scoring a surprise takedown in the second period to close the bout to 4-2. If he plays defense, gets an escape to start the 3rd, it's 4-3, and one move can win the match. Right?
Wrong. Besides the fact that you're not getting that escape in the 3rd, Zpain's pace is stupid high. Zpain's getting another takedown (or 3, in today's match), and then he's turning you for the trouble.
2) The white-out was pretty cool.
3) The white singlets? Not my thing, and not Zain's either. Asked by Ironhead if he liked them, Zain replied, "ehhh, they're alright. You gotta wear white underwear."
