Bowl Projections: Week Seven

Penn State may have been off this week, but the weekly bowl projections didn’t stop changing!

NCAA Football: Southern Mississippi at Louisiana State Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN (Brian Bennett)

Bowl: Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl

Location: Nashville, TN

Date: Dec. 30, 2016

Opponent: LSU

CBS Sports (Jerry Palm)

Bowl: Holiday Bowl

Location: San Diego, CA

Date: Dec. 27, 2016

Opponent: Colorado

Campus Insiders (Dave Miller)

Bowl: Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl

Location: Nashville, TN

Date: Dec. 30, 2016

Opponent: Georgia

SB Nation (Jason Kirk)

Bowl: Holiday Bowl

Location: San Diego, CA

Date: December 27th, 2016

Opponent: Colorado

Campus Insiders goes with ESPN and selects the Music City Bowl as the destination, but in their minds, Penn State will face Georgia. The Bulldogs are coming off an upset loss to Vanderbilt. (As a reminder, these two teams faced each other last year in the TaxSlayer Bowl.)

ESPN’s Bennett maintains his Music City Bowl prediction. LSU is 4-2, and will next face Ole Miss at night in Death Valley. Ed Orgeron is a fun guy to watch coach.

Kirk makes another bowl and opponent change, this time to the Holiday Bowl, and Colorado. The Buffaloes are a dangerous team with a lot of firepower, as ASU found out on Saturday. Colorado is currently 5-2, and next plays at Stanford.

Meanwhile, Jerry Palm stays with his Holiday Bowl projection, but also picks Colorado as the opponent.

Record in Music City Bowl: Never played in

Record in Holiday Bowl: 1-0 (50-39 over BYU and eventual Heisman winner Ty Detmer, who passed for 576 yards)
