Brazen Predictions and Early Morn’ Open Thread: Week 8, OSU

We're back, and better than ever. Got a knack, for making things better.

NCAA Football: Maryland at Penn State Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Howdy, gals and guys! (Yes guys, the ladies get addressed first in this post, get over it). It it 2:14 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, October 22nd and we are just hours away from PSU’s biggest game of the year. I am dreading waking up in 4 hours to drive to State College, but dreaming of seeming all your smiling faces! That being said, let’s predict some stuff:

Clay: Bold prediction time for all you fine folks. Penn State may not win the ball game against OSU (they won't), but a star will be born. Linebacker Cam Brown is going to show why he was recruited by the nation's elite, totaling double-digit tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble to help keep PSU from getting its brains bashed in by a team with far superior depth and talent.

Chris L: I've been on special teams for the first 6 games, so I think I'll switch gears. For the first time since Kent State, the linebacking corps looks good, with Brandon Bell and Jason Cabinda back. The linebackers lead the way, notching a handful of tackles for loss, a sack, and forcing a turnover.

Aaron: Trace McSorley finishes with more rushing plus passing yards than J.T. Barrett.

(I’m assuming Aaron didn’t say total offense to account for the 150 receiving yards J.T. will have)

Eli: Penn State will actually win the game.

DLando: J.T. Barrett doesn't score a touchdown until the second half.

Jared: Trace McSorley will have a solid outing, gaining 270 yards through the air and two touchdowns. Per tradition, he will also throw a pick-six. Mike Gesicki will continue his impressive season with 8 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, not only does Brandon Bell return, but he feeds off the electric atmosphere to accumulate 11 tackles, 2 TFLs a sack and a forced fumble, while senior Evan Schwan chips in two sacks as well.

Tim: Penn State scored a touchdown on its opening drive of the game.

Cari: Penn State will get close to 300 yards on the ground despite losing by at least two scores.

There you have ‘em. Hot n’ ready like a terrible pizza from Little Ceasars. We showed you ours, now you show us yours...(predictions, people). Oh, and we’ll give you an open thread and game schedule to boot (we at BSD are selfless lovers).
