It’s been a long and exciting wait for those of us who follow shootyhoops, and the wait is almost over. In a little over two weeks, on November 11, to be exact, Penn State will tip off against against Albany at Bryce Jordan Center, and all will be right with the world.

Pat Chambers enters his sixth season as the head coach of the Nittany Lions. He faced a rocky first few seasons in State College, but has recently started to show the gradual improvement we’ve all been waiting to see out of him. Last season, with what most thought would be his worst team as a Penn State coach, Chambers managed to win seven Big Ten games, the most of his career.

Now, Penn State enters this season with an air of optimism not regularly seen in basketball, returning the bulk of the scoring from a year ago, and complementing it with one of the highest recruiting classes in the history of the program.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll preview each of the returning players as well as the new faces, and will look at what we expect from these Nittany Lions this season, as well as giving you a look at the rest of the Big Ten.

Get your fans ready folks, ‘cause this flaming bus is ready to take off!
