Brazen Predictions and Early Morn’ Open Thread: Maryland week

Much like a certain head coach, our predictions were a bit conservative this week.

NCAA Football: Minnesota at Penn State Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Hola, mis amigos! I sit here on this early (so, so early) Saturday morning, beverage in hand (Bell’s Oberon Ale, always good), ready to bring you predictions and schedules and threads and what not. So, hooligans and hooliganettes, shall we?

Clay - Brandon Bell returns and, in a supremely sweet sign of karma, knocks the absolutely living hell (can I say that? I think I can say that. If not, sorry SBNation! O_o) out of Perry Hills to cause a fumble that sets the tone as PSU finally wins a game going away.

Dena - Maryland's captains will shake hands. It won't be raining as hard as it was last weekend. It will be a happy Homecoming. Maryland's unspoiled season will be ruined by PSU. And Hills will throw an interception that we run back for a 70-yard touchdown.

I’m assuming Dena didn’t mean that us bloggers will personally return said interception. I would likely collapse after about the 50-yard mark.

Tim - Penn State wins the turnover battle and James Franklin actually elects to go for it on 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard-line (and is handsomely rewarded with a touchdown).

James, please. We’re begging.

Eli - The Maryland defense can't stop a team with actual offensive weapons.

I’m not sure this qualifies as bold. It’s certainly not brazen. We may have to have a discussion here.

Aaron - Perry Hills gains more rushing yards than anyone else on either side.

Please, sweet death, come for me if this happens.

Lando - Will Likely returns a kick (kickoff or punt) for a touchdown.

Nope, not going to make the obvious joke here. I’m better than that. (I’m really not, but still.)

Chris L - Will Likely does NOT return a kick for a touchdown. Gillikin continues to amaze, putting Likely on an island, and Julius continues to hold serve on kickoffs.

So, you’re saying he isn’t likely to have a return touchdown? Hmm. (See, told you I’m not any better than that.)

There you are. You’ve heard our worst, so give us your best. And as always, the game schedule is yours to peruse and comment on in the open thread.
