With the continued success of the football team comes continued accolades, both for the program as a whole in the form of being ranked in the Top 10 in all major polls, and individually, as James Franklin was named today as a semifinalist for the George Munger Coach of the Year Award:

Franklin was one of 16 semifinalists voted upon by eligible voters, which includes Maxwell Football Club members (the award is presented by the Maxwell Football Club), NCAA head coaches, Sports Information Directors, and select members of the sports media. Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh, and Paul Chryst, represent the other Big Ten coaches selected amongst the semifinalists. Voting for the finalists begins today and will run through December 11th. The top three vote-getters will then move on to the final round, which will be decided between December 11th and December 27th, with the winner being announced on December 29th.

Congrats, Coach! Here’s to seeing you named the winner of this award in about a month or so.
