The Tale
Penn State has picked up a big 2018 commitment from four-star QB Justin Fields pic.twitter.com/KKvey9Zdd7

Penn State was one of the first to offer the well-built, strong-armed Fields, and that ultimately most likely gave them the edge over in-state Georgia, who offered recently. Fields was a big fan of what Penn State’s offense looked like this year under Joe Moorhead, and he should fit well in the scheme.
Outlook
Despite losing out on in-state blue chipper Phil Jurkovec to Notre Dame, Penn State appears to have a landed a real stud to be their signal caller in the class of 2018. Fields fits the scheme here perfectly and is a real coup out of the talent-rich state of Georgia, a place where Coach Franklin would certainly like to recruit with more success stories like this one. Already weighing over 200 lb, Fields physically will be ready to play from day one, but given Penn State’s depth at quarterback as the depth chart currently stands plus the arrival of Sean Clifford next summer, will most likely take a redshirt year in blue and white.
With Fields’ commitment, PSU has a pretty good 2018 class of six recruits:
