Penn State wrestling took to the mat and took care of business on Sunday in its fourth dual meet of the season on Sunday. The Nittany Lions put on a show for the Rec Hall crowd, downing Binghamton 46-0.

Nick Suriano led off the dual for PSU at 125 and promptly got the crowd into it, topping Steve Bulzomi via major decision, 12-2. In a bit of a surprise, George Carpenter got his PSU dual debut at 133 with Jered Cortez banged up. Carpenter did not disappoint, earning a 17-2 tech fall over the Bearcats’ Ian Lupole.

Jimmy Gulibon was able to right the ship a bit at 141, topping senior Dylan Caruana by major decision, 12-3. At 149, Zain Retherford did his thing and picked up a fall in 2:39 against Binghamton’s Parker Kropman. Jason Nolf followed suit in 3:48 over freshman Tristan Rifanburg.

Out of the intermission, Cenzo Joseph earned a hard-fought 10-5 win over Vincent DePrez, but was the only Nittany Lion wrestler not to pick up bonus points on the day.

Geno Morelli was back in the lineup at 174 and impressed in a 22-9 major decision over Anthony Lombardo. Morelli has showed a variety of offensive attacks and has clearly added to his arsenal this season.

Bo Nickal faced Steve Schneider in the only matchup of ranked opponents. Nickal controlled the match throughout and won 18-7. The major decision was Nickal’s eight win of the season, but his first that did not come via pin. Matt McCutcheon continues to impress up at 197. ‘Cutch dominated Mark Tracy en route to a 9-1 victory in which he racked up 3:01 of riding time.

Nick Nevills capped the match with an impressive performance. Finally healthy, the big man is firing on all cylinders and displayed as much in a victory by fall over Binghamton’s Conor Calkins in 3:57.

OW: George Carpenter. Was this even in question? The sophomore made his dual debut in grand fashion. He showed an impressive array of takedowns and tilts on his way to rolling up 17 points.
