Chris Gulla returns to the depth chart for the upcoming Rose Bowl, after some off-field issues kept him away from the team since the Indiana game. While he’s long since given up punting duties to Blake Gillikin, Gulla will play a role (hopefully one that we’ll have no reason to notice) in the game as the place-kick holder. There’s no explanation for his absence other than “a violation of team rules,” but it’s encouraging that Chris was able to resolve it in time to attend the bowl game.
There was also a bit of shuffling at the Will Linebacker position, with converted running-back Johnathan Thomas being replaced by Manny Bowen in a backup role. No changes to any of the starters, and no reappearance of players lost to injuries earlier in the season.
