Nathan Proctor Announcing Commitment at UA All-Star Game

Four-star linebacker Nathan Proctor was scheduled to visit Penn State, Pitt, and Ole Miss in the coming new year before making a commitment around Signing Day. But that doesn’t appear to be the case now, as Proctor will be announcing his decision at the Under Armour All-American Game on January 1.

With him already having visited Virginia Tech, the Hokies will likely be the choice for the Maryland linebacker. But as this Rivals headline states, Proctor is still scheduled to take visits despite his commitment.

As we talked about last week, Penn State doesn’t really have much room to work with right now. Proctor’s a talented prospect for sure, but I’d be surprised if the Nittany Lions would accept his commitment before knowing more about their roster situation. Luckily — if space does end up opening up — Penn State should still have the chance to sway Proctor when he visits Happy Valley in January.

C.J. Thorpe To Take Other Visits

It’s ESPNInsider info ($) so we won’t get into too many details, but current Penn State commit OG C.J. Thorpe plans to visit another school other than the Nittany Lions. While this usually would be a sign for concern, I wouldn’t worry too much about Thorpe. He seems pretty set on Penn State, so it would take a major upset for him not to end up in Happy Valley.

2018 DB Isaiah Humphries Set To Decide January 1

Like Proctor, 2018 Texas defensive back Isaiah Humphries will also be announcing his commitment on January 1.

Humphries is the son of former Penn State safety Leonard Humphries, so the Nittany Lions are the presumed favorite for the four-star Texas athlete. If Humphries were to commit, he would be the sixth four-star to join the class, with the only non-four-star being five-star defensive end Micah Parsons. So yeah, 2018 is looking pretty good.
