78 Student-Athletes Named Fall Academic All-Big Ten

The Big Ten conference released its Fall 2016 Academic All-Conference Team, totaling 1,007 student-athletes across seven sports. 78 Penn State student-athletes earned the honor, which is given to students who are letterwinners in at least their second academic year, and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

For Penn State, the breakdown by sport is as follows:

• Field Hockey - 16
• Football - 19
• Men’s Cross Country - 1
• Women’s Cross Country - 7
• Men’s Soccer - 13
• Women’s Soccer - 14
• Women’s Volleyball - 8

One Penn State student-athlete currently has a perfect 4.0 GPA - senior Cara Ulizio of the Women’s Cross Country team, who is majoring in Supply Chain Management.
