Success With Hyperlinking Is Still Undefeated...and Looking To Stay That Way

Hey! It's links time!

The number one Penn State wrestling squad finished the regular season undefeated this past weekend, rolling into Bethlehem to knock off a ranked Lehigh team before returning home and destroying an outmanned MSU squad. There are still four #1 ranked wrestlers on the team--and three of them are still undefeated on the year. That's pretty darn near unprecedented, and Morgan McIntosh, the lone senior amongst those number ones, knows the team's special:

Yea, the video's a few days old. But just tell one of Cael's boys that.

Next up for Sanderson & Co is the Dual Championships at Rec Hall on Sunday versus Oklahoma State.

Sunday was Valentine's Day, you may or may not have known. The mothership made some awesome valentines. This one was my favorite:

so, so true.

During Super Bowl week, Michael Irvin was asked about Allen Robinson and had nothing but effusive praise for the former Nittany Lion, saying

"That’s my man, A.R. He’s going to be a beast for a long time. He’s a solid guy. [Former] coach [Jon] Gruden always tells me, ‘Michael, I’m telling you, A.R. reminds me most of you.’ I see that, too. He’s a lot like me and I had to get ‘me’ on my team [in the Pro Bowl]. I love the way he plays and I love his confidence. We had him on our show coming out for the draft and had him working out and the thing he said was, ‘I’m going to show everybody.’ He wasn’t drafted in the first round but he said he would change the game for his team and that’s what he’s done. I text him about what it takes to be great and he soaks it up with a sponge and it shows on the field."

It took a few years and a sneak into the Pro Bowl, but now everyone's seeing what we've known for years--A Rob's legit.

PennLive's got some good links from Greg Pickel both on what it's like to enroll early--Connor McGovern says he adapted fast to the college pace, and the negative recruiting tactics that many different schools tried to use against highly touted OL Michal Menet. Hint: it's some of the same stuff other schools go through, but for Penn State, it's something new.

According to ESPN, the biggest game for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in 2016 is the game at home versus Penn State. Why do I feel like I've heard this before?

It's THON week! Both Josh Brandwene, the women's hockey coach, and men's baseball coach Rob Cooper participated in "No Hair Don't Care" to benefit Thon on Monday. And Onward State has an interview with OPP Director Jake Crisuolo.

Side note: is anyone else still wondering if Bob Shoop is still donating his $107 per sack to Uplifting Athletes? I haven't heard about it since mid-season, and iirc we ended the year as the FBS sack leader.

QUICK HITS: Women's hockey's Celine Whitlinger was the CHA Goalie of the week for the third time after the team's win over Lindenwood...Men's volleyball is on a seven game win streak after beating Sacred Heart 3-1. They're 8-2 on the year, and #7 in the nation, and junior Chris Nugent was named EIVA offensive player of the week for the third time after his weekend performance...Freshman Karol Metryka placed first in the junior men's sabre event at the Junior Olympics this weekend--one of three PSUers in the top ten (the other two were freshman Anton Piskovatskov and sophomore Khalil Thompson)...

Pssst...there's still time fo you  to donate to Thon. FTK.
