No. 1 Penn State's Nico Megaludis Big Ten Wrestler of the Week

BSD's favorite is named B1G Wrestler of the Week.

It only took five years.

The first time Penn State's stud 125lber celebrated - at all - after a win was in his last home dual meet at Rec Hall.  Usually, win or lose - and it's been almost exclusively win - his jaw's firmly set in a grimace as he gets his arm raised, and sprints off the mat behind the bleachers for a little more cardio.

This time, Nico Megaludis, the senior from Murrysville, PA and Franklin Regional, had just decked long-time nemesis and #6 ranked Eddie Klimara in the second period.  And in that singular moment, the guy who never shows anything but determination finally cracked a hint of a smile, and waved his arms for the first, and last, time at Rec Hall.  It was more than earned, and long overdue.

And the Big Ten wisely agreed, which is why they named Nico Big Ten Wrestler of the Week.  Nico joins teammates Jason Nolf (1/26), Zain Retherford (1/9), and Bo Nickal (1/5 and 11/24) for the honor this season.  Next up: the Big Ten championships, and an NCAA title.
