It has hardly been a break for James Franklin and his staff since signing 20 players earlier this month, but the relative quiet comes to an end this weekend. Dozens of players from around Pennsylvania and the region will descend on State College, PA for Junior Day, the first big event of the 2017 recruiting cycle.

Here are the biggest names that are planning to be on campus

Plenty of other prospects are expected as well, but these are the names we have confirmed plan to attend, have tweeted regarding their plans, or confirmed by friend of the blog, Greg Pickel from PennLive. Sean Fitz over at Lions247 has a comprehensive list as well ($). Sean also has an interesting breakdown of the results from previous junior days ($).

It would not be a shock to see a commitment or two over the weekend, but it is hardly a given. The obvious name to keep an eye on is likely Damion Barber, who tweeted he was considering announcing a commitment as early as next week. But as we have seen in James Franklin's first two full recruiting classes, this is the kickoff of a huge recruiting push that runs through spring practice and into the Blue-White Game in April. Plenty of prospects will make their way to Happy Valley over the coming weeks.
