YAY HOOPS: Penn State at No. 5 Iowa Open Thread

Do the best you can out there.

William Hauser-USA TODAY Sports

The Penn State Nittany Lions men's basketball team is in Iowa City this evening to take on the fifth-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. Fran McCaffrey's team is good. Really good. They're the 2nd-ranked team in KenPom, and their only Big Ten loss happened on the road against Maryland, who you may also recall being very good.

Josh Reaves remains out with mononucleosis, Shep Garner is still dealing with the lingering effects of an ankle sprain, and Payton Banks has a back issue. Meanwhile, stars Jarrod Uthoff and Peter Jok are just fine for Iowa, and the Hawkeyes are favored by 17 points. On paper, this is an easy win for Iowa.

You're probably running on fumes (as much as you can online, anyway) from all of the National Signing Day coverage, but that does not mean that we are going to eschew common courtesy and decor. As always, the regular open thread rules apply. No illegal streams, no politics, no pornography, and no general douchebaggery.

Also, note that tonight's game is on ESPNU and not BTN.

Let's go State.
