A Change is Gonna Come (Oh yes it will) The questions we've been asking ourselves over and over during the past two offseasons of whether the offensive line will finally show signs of improvement will not be answered until September, but things appear to be on the right track with Matt Limegrover on-board to guide the OL. Josh Moyer of ESPN recently sat down with Limegrover, with plenty of insight on the new coach and reasons to be excited that a change is gonna come. Moyer also made his case for why Saquon Barkley is the best offensive player in the Big Ten, ahead of J.T. Barrett.
New Faces Penn State welcomed two new walk-ons to the team earlier in the week, linebacker Frank Di Leo and running back Irvine Paye. Both are undersized players entering crowded positions, so while they may not see much time on the field, they will get to contribute to the program and have the thrill of running out of the Beaver Stadium tunnel to 100,00-plus screaming fans. Seriously, what would you do to have that opportunity just once in your lifetime?
Dominating the Region Penn State hosted Joshua Kaindoh, a five-star defensive lineman from Maryland earlier in the week. Kaindoh is ranked as the number 25 player in the nation for 2017, and obviously has his fair share of suitors, including Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Florida State and just about every team that you would find near the top of the polls on a regular basis. While the experts consider him an Ohio State lean at the moment, there's still plenty of time for Franklin to work his magic.
#DLU Who is the next big-time defensive tackle to follow in the footsteps of Jared Odrick, Jordan Hill, DaQuan Jones, Anthony Zettel and Austin Johnson (among others)? It looks like it might be redshirt freshman Kevin Givens, who has been generating plenty of buzz throughout the spring. It sounds as though cornerback John Reid is also showing progress beyond his years.
The Long Road Ahead It's the beginning of April, which means another five months of endless speculation and subjective arguments until it's time to kickoff the 2016 season. Former BSDer Ben Jones believes Penn State fans are in store for a wildly entertaining fall, while the folks at ESPN argue that the Nittany Lions will have one of the best receiving corps in the conference in 2016.
Punish the Penguins Penn State's baseball team blasted Youngstown State in a 6-1 victory earlier in the week. Speaking of funny mascots, Onward State took a trip down memory lane with the many different looks for the Nittany Lion throughout the years.
