Is it September yet? Sadly, no it isn't, but we finally have some news on what awaits us this college football season. Penn State's first trip to Pittsburgh in 16 years will kickoff at noon on September 10, either on ESPN or ABC. Blame the Pirates game at 7 that night for why we don't have this game in a prime time spot.
Softball snub: Despite a great season in the diamond, the softball team won't be headed to the NCAA Tournament after being passed over in the selection show. A 30-24 record this season, and a few historic performances, were not able to get in over Nebraska and Northwestern, but the future of the team next season looks to be intact with five of the nine starters returning.
Crazy for hockey: After yet another year of incredible hockey, Penn State announced that 95% of previous season ticket holders have renewed for this upcoming season! Sadly, that means the season ticket allotment has been sold out so if you forgot to sign up, it's too late. Good news is individual tickets go on sale in August, so there's still a chance to see the hockey team play in Pegula this season.
Volleyball back: The women's volleyball team released their 2016 schedule this week! You know you want to click to find out more.
Cycling champions: Junior Monica Volk won gold in the USA Cycling Collegiate Nationals this week after finishing first in the 54-mile race! Volk also won bronze for the individual Division I omnium after her combined first place finish and her sixth in a shorter race the next day.
Heisman talk: ESPN has nabbed our own Saquon Barkley as a sleeper for the Heisman Trophy this season. Let your imaginations run wild, folks!
