As fun as it would have been to hang around the special teams players for a few more days, it is time that we return the defensive line on the 100 days countdown. Today, we visit with number 94, redshirt senior defensive end Evan Schwan.
At the start of the 2015 season, Schwan was the third defensive end for Penn State's defense, but injuries kept him from being able to stay on the field consistently. With Garrett Sickels returning at one of the starting positions, and redshirt sophomore Torrance Brown potentially being able to take the next step in 2016, it seems that Schwan will again be a rotational player. But an experienced player who is respected by coaches and teammates has value no matter how much playing time he gets. Schwan's also a guy who does not take the sport too seriously, as evidenced by the mic'd up video the athletic department put together from this year's Blue-White Game. He should be an easy guy for fans to root for.
Only 94 days until the start of the Penn State football season.
