Only Juwan Johnson Until Penn State Football

Did you happen to catch Friday's 'Days Until' featuring Irvin Charles? Well, that article could nearly be cut-and-pasted to discuss today's spotlighted player, Juwan Johnson. Both are tall, physical receivers with unusual explosiveness for their size (Johnson stands at 6'4'', 221 lbs). Both were very highly-recruited players out of high school, receiving offers from the likes of Alabama, Michigan State and Ohio State. Perhaps most importantly, both are coming off redshirt seasons and will be ready to make an impact on the offense this fall.

There was plenty of speculation at this time last year that Johnson would contribute immediately as a true freshman, and possibly work his way into a starting role at some point in 2015. However, with plenty of talent and depth at the receiver position, the staff decided it was best not to burn his redshirt. Now, he could potentially be a standout in Joe Moorhead's offense through the 2019 season. Dubbed "Megatron Jr." for the similarities he shares with all-time great wide receiver Calvin Johnson, it might not be long before the younger Johnson steps into the national spotlight.
