Only Brendan Mahon Until Penn State Football

Just 70 days until kickoff!

Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Brendan Mahon has been a permanent member of the much maligned offensive line for the last 2 seasons, working chiefly at the left guard position. While the offensive line has suffered from a severe lack of depth over the last couple seasons, Brendan's reliability has stemmed some of the bleeding, and has allowed a few other players to rotate around the line as needed.

Originally a 4-star recruit from New Jersey, Mahon redshirted his first season before recording his first start against UCF in the season-opening Croke Park Classic as a redshirt freshman. In 2014, Brendan appeared in 12 games with 9 starts, before adding another 13 games and 11 starts in 2015. Due to injuries elsewhere on the line, Mahon spent some time in 2015 at right tackle.

Though Brendan has been a stalwart on the line since 2014, expect the young talent that James Franklin has been accumulating to push him and the other upperclassmen for playing time. Mahon will look to continue to improve and solidify his place on the line this season.
