Heinz Field Selling Alcohol: Pitt Athletic Director Scott Barnes announced that alcohol will now be sold to the general public at Pitt home games for the 2016 season. Let's hope for Penn State fans making the pilgrimage to Heinz Field for the renewal of the rivalry, that they'll be celebratory drinking a Nittany Lions victory as the clock winds down in the fourth quarter, instead of drinking out of pure misery in the face of defeat.
James Franklin Q&A: In a somewhat surprising move because of how closed off he's become since the beginning of his tenure, James Franklin took part in a long Q&A with Rich Scarcella of the Reading Eagle. Franklin talks about a number of topics in the article, everything from dealing with expectations, recruiting with sanctions, how he met Joe Moorhead, the quarterback competition, and much more.
Wrestling Commitment: The richer get richer. Cael Sanderson landed a verbal from Adam Busiello, the No. 1 106 pounder in the country and the No. 2 overall recruit in the class of 2019. On his decision, Busiello said, "I knew Penn State was the choice right when I arrived."
Nick Bowers Dunks Over Tyler Shoop, Goes Viral: Rising redshirt freshman Nick Bowers has yet to play a down for Penn State, but over the weekend he caught the eyes of Penn State fans (and Pat Chambers) everywhere with his dunk over walk-on wide receiver Tyler Shoop. Bowers -- a 6-foot-4, 265-pound tight end -- displayed his hops leaping over the 5-foot-11 Shoop, impressive enough to land the dunk on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays.
Not bad for a 270lb TE... Over a 6'0 wide receiver ⚪️ @Nbowers28 pic.twitter.com/OyXuWlci16

GoFundMe For Rocky Rodriguez: Former Penn State soccer phenom and current Sky Blue FC player Rocky Rodriguez earned an ESPY nomination for Best Female College Athlete, and her teammate -- Caroline Casey -- at Sky Blue FC is trying to help her attend the award ceremony. Casey set up a GoFundMe, asking for $5,000 of donations to cover the cost for flying, lodging, and food. In just two days, over $3,600 has already been raised.
Hancock and Courtney Named To Pan Am Cup Roster: Following their legendary careers at Penn State, Micha Hancock and Megan Courtney were both named to the 12-person U.S. National Team's Pan Am Roster. With two selections, Penn State is tied for having the most players represented on the roster.
The Freshmen Have Arrived: The football and basketball freshmen moved into Happy Valley this previous weekend. I'm very happy to live in a world where Miles Sanders, Michal Menet, Lamar Stevens, and Tony Carr are all officially Penn State students.
