After four years of productivity, Penn State's offense will be missing a key component in tight end Kyle Carter. During his redshirt freshman season, Carter came out of nowhere to earn all-Big Ten honors in Bill O'Brien's tight end-friendly offense. He never quite reached those same heights, partly because of injuries and partly because of major changes in the offense, but he always seemed to rise to the occasion with a key catch when needed.
Carter begins the next chapter of his football career as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, where he'll work to earn a roster sport as an undrafted free agent. While it seems likely Carter will catch on somewhere in the NFL, he will have a bright future once he hangs up his cleats for good, as he excelled in the classroom at Penn State to become a four-time All-Academic Big Ten honoree.
Just 87 days until the start of the 2016 football season!!
