Simpson is entering his redshirt freshman year this fall. The 6’3” 285 pound guard out of Hollidaysburg, Pa. joined the team last year as a preferred walk-on.
Simpson has gained 20 pounds since joining the team and will be looked to for added depth on the offensive line. He will be an important practice player this year, giving the young defensive line players a big body to work against.
A civil engineering major, he was also an honor student each year in high school. He was on the Hollidaysburg Area high school basketball, baseball and football teams, having been named as a football captain his senior season.
Growing up in Penn State country, Simpson is a lifelong fan of the blue and white, and specifically lists John Urschel as one of his favorite players. His brother and uncle are both Penn State civil engineering graduates, and he is following in their footsteps.
Only 64 more days until Penn State football!
