Only Curtis Cothran Until Penn State Football

Today marks 52 days until kickoff against Kent State, so BSD features number 52, Curtis Cothran, in our daily countdown

NCAA Football: Penn State at Temple Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Fifty-two days remain until the roar of the crowd hits Beaver Stadium and the Nittany Lions take on the Kent State Golden Flashes! Our featured player today? Curtis Cothran, Number 52.

The 6’5, 262 pounder from Council Rock North High School in Newtown, PA initially came to Penn State as a three-star defensive end recruit. After redshirting his freshman year, he backed up CJ Olaniyan and Deion Barnes on the edge. He remained in the background last season as all-World everything Carl Nassib shines brightly. Now, as a redshirt junior, Cothran has moved to the interior to provide depth and support. He’ll be counted on over the balance of his career to make an impact, potentially as a pass rusher, from the defensive tackle position.

Good luck this season, Curtis!
