Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Chance Sorrell hopes to compete for playing time in 2016 after playing in three games during the 2015 season. At 6’5’’, 293, the Middletown, Ohio native provides good size and athleticism, as he played tight end in high school. Both of Sorrell’s parents played collegiate sports, with his father playing football at Kentucky.
Sorrell was one of the former Vanderbilt commitments who decided to follow James Franklin to Penn State after the head coach’s departure, and committed to the Nittany Lions on January 11th, 2014. He enrolled at Penn State just two weeks later, and seemed to benefit from the added time in the weight room, putting on 48 pounds since arriving to campus.
Sorrell intends to pursue a career in either physical therapy or as a strength and conditioning professional.
He's a video gamer, boater, and swimmer, and he’s also a gif professional.
