It’s a busy first half of August for Penn State Alum Frank Molinaro. In addition to making the Olympic team in Rio (his first match is August 21), Gorilla Hulk added more good news:

Frank’s wife, Kera, wasn’t due until August 28, but their second child came early—and we’re wishing them the best (and him the best of luck next week).

In the meantime, Frank was named one of ten up and coming Olympians to watch. And here’s an official interview from a few days ago:

Say what? According to, the Bryce Jordan Center is one of the world’s top University venues—according to ticket sales, at least. The arena came in fourth, behind arenas at George Mason, Cal State-Fresno, and the University of Texas-Austin, in sales for all events, including concerts.

Now if only they could figure out how to be a good basketball venue.

CBS has put out their list of College Football’s best and worst coaches based strictly on how the teams perform on close games. The good news? Franklin’s not one of the worst. He’s actually dead middle in the Big Ten, if you consider the new coaches at the bottom—he comes in seventh. To no one’s surprise, they name Urban Meyer the best in the conference (and the second best college coach overall, and best in FBS—second only to Old Dominion’s coach, Bobby Wilder) and Purdue’s Darrell Hazell the worst.

Speaking of CJF...he had a lot to say about fall camp so far.

Are you ready for some Band Candy? College interviews Blue Band director Greg Drane in their preview of Penn State’s marching band’s fall season, and asked him a slew of questions—including the best things he learned in his first season at the helm of the Blue Band.
