With Penn State losing three linemen at the end of last season, Torrence Brown has the opportunity to earn a starting spot opposite Garrett Sickels. He’ll compete for the starting Defensive End spot with Evan Schwan.
Brown redshirted his freshman season in 2014, and appeared in every game last season. He recorded 11 total tackles (five solo), 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He also had a fumble recovery.
Even if Brown isn’t the starter when the season starts, he’ll still see plenty of time on the field due to the frequent rotation the defense employs.
