The defending national champions have landed at #2 in the NSCAA Preseason Poll

Penn State Athletics

Last season, Coach Erica Walsh Dambach led the Penn State Women's Soccer Team to the first national title in program history. Expectations will remain high for the program this season as the Nittany Lions slotted in at #2 in the NSCAA Preseason Poll. Penn State's 731 points were 20 behind the top ranked team, the Florida State Seminoles.  Florida State had 18 first place votes, Penn State had 10, and Duke, last year's runner-up, had two.

The Nittany Lions return an astounding 18 letterwinners from last year, and bring in a recruiting class of seven new players, according to a press release by gopsusports.com. The program will be led by a sensational junior class highlighted by forward Frannie Crouse, midfielder Emily Ogle, and outside back Maddie Elliston, among others.

Penn State opens their season at 7:30 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 19 at Jeffrey Field against #6 West Virginia.
