Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports has reported that Penn State will participate in the 2017 Legends Classic along with Pitt, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M. The event, normally scheduled for mid-to-late November, returns to Barclays Center in 2017.
Penn State gets four guaranteed games from the event, two at Bryce-Jordan Center and two at Barclays. More specifics on which teams the Lions will play against will become available as the event gets closer.
This announcement is another confirmation that Pat Chambers is looking to beef up the future schedules as his young talent matures, which could later position the Nittany Lions to reach not only the NIT, but the NCAA tournament, depending on how the season turns.
We’ll have more details as they come.
