Defensive Tackle Antoine White to Transfer

A member of James Franklin’s first recruiting class at Penn State, White will continue his career at the FCS level

After three years in the Penn State program, defensive tackle Antoine White has decided to continue his football career at the University of Albany.

White was a part of a defensive line rotation for the Nittany Lions last year that developed throughout the season. In his redshirt sophomore season, he made 17 tackles and 1.5 sacks playing mainly as a 3-technique defensive tackle.

With a number of scholarship defensive tackles already on the roster and highly rated recruited Fred Hansard joining the fray, White likely makes the move to secure more playing time.

The Great Danes play at the FCS level in the Colonial Athletic Conference, home to reigning national champs James Madison.

The move brings Penn State to an estimated 87 scholarship players heading into the 2017-18 season, a number that will have to drop by two before the fall.

We send our best wishes to Antoine and look forward to seeing what he does in his future as a Great Dane.
