Five-star Henry Ruggs Likely To Visit Penn State

Alabama wideout Henry Ruggs is no stranger to Penn State. The five-star prospect has had Penn State in his Top 5 for some time now, and even visited Happy Valley for the Lasch Bash back in July. But the Nittany Lions haven’t been able to get Ruggs back on campus since then — well, until now. Ruggs said that he is likely to officially visit Penn State next weekend (January 27), stating that James Franklin and Josh Gattis have played a big part in his recruitment.

It doesn’t take an expert to point out that the chances that Ruggs ends up at Penn State on Signing Day aren’t high. He’s long been an Alabama lean, but even if something were to happen with the Crimson Tide, it appears that Florida State is comfortably in second place. Still, it’s never a bad sign to get talented kids from the South up to Happy Valley for a visit. If Penn State stays on the trajectory that its on, I imagine you’ll see Franklin and company dip more into the South for recruits, just like it did with 2018 quarterback commit Justin Fields.

As for other visitors that weekend, the Nittany Lions are also scheduled to host Pennsylvania wide receiver Mark Webb and Indiana tight end Peyton Hendershot. So it’s shaping up to be a decently sized recruiting weekend.

Micah Parsons Sets Final Decision Date

Five-star thoroughbred Micah Parsons has been committed to Penn State for almost a year now, but he still plans to make an official announcement on his college choice on January 1, 2018 at the Army All-American Bowl, according to this interview with PennLive. Although this will rile up some folks, all this means is that Parsons wants to be able to do a video like Lamont Wade or pick a hat on TV like Nathan Proctor. Simply the state of recruiting.

Regardless of videos, announcements, or any of that fun stuff, Penn State has known for a while now that keeping Parsons in the fold wasn’t going to be easy. Like we’ve talked about before, Ohio State and Larry Johnson Sr. remain a huge threat. So this isn’t really anything new for Franklin and Sean Spencer. They know they’ll have to recruit Parsons through Signing Day 2018.

All Of Penn State’s Commits Will Be On Campus This Weekend
