Highlights

The Tale

Taquan Roberson has been no stranger to Happy Valley. The New Jersey signal caller has been at Penn State four times in the past six months, landing an offer from the Nittany Lions back in July. Since then, it only seemed like a matter of time before Roberson made the call for Penn State. Following a visit to this past weekend’s Whiteout, that’s exactly what Roberson did, as he made the call for the Blue & White.

Roberson is the No. 10 player in New Jersey, and the No. 17 dual-threat quarterback in the country, according to 247Sports Composite. He joins CB Keaton Ellis as the second member of Penn State’s 2019 class.

Outlook

Penn State has been trying for a couple of years now to take a two-man quarterback class, and it’s looking like 2019 will be the year. With Roberson now in the fold, expect the Nittany Lions to continue to push hard for North Carolina’s Garrett Shrader, who is undoubtedly the No. 1 quarterback on their board.

There’s certainly a lot to like about Roberson, though. He lacks the size and length of your prototypical quarterback, but has a lively arm, and a nice throwing motion. Just even looking at highlights, you can see he has a high football I.Q., and a good feel for the game. He’s a solid athlete too, although I don’t know if he’ll be much of a runner at the next level.

Welcome to Penn State, Taquan!
