Mike Gesicki Expected to Play Saturday vs. (just) Northwestern

James Franklin said today that he expects the senior tight end to be available in Evanston

James Franklin held his weekly’s press conference today at Beaver Stadium and while he, unsurprisingly, did not comment on the specifics on the injury that caused senior tight end Mike Gesicki to leave Saturday’s game against Indiana, he did say that Gesicki was expected to play this upcoming Saturday at Northwestern.

The Nittany Lions will head to Ryan Field to a noon (11 a.m. local) kick against the Wildcats on ABC. While Gesicki is supposedly going to play, don’t be surprised if he sees limited action as the Lions head into a bye week before a crucial stretch of games against Michigan and Ohio State.

Gesicki has made 20 receptions for 167 yards and five touchdowns through five games this season and is considered by many to be one of the best tight ends in the nation.
