Trace McSorley Among Finalists For Unitas Award

NCAA Football: Michigan at Penn State Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Not everything is bad for Penn State football of late.

Redshirt junior quarterback Trace McSorley was named one of 10 finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

The award is given annually to the senior or fourth-year junior quarterback who both succeeds on the field and demonstrates character, citizenship, scholastic achievement and leadership qualities.

Last year’s award winner was Clemson’s Deshaun Watson.

Through eight games McSorley has thrown for 2,071 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions to go along with 303 yards rushing and eight touchdowns.
